From Monginevro to Torino (Italy)

You ask me what to do? And I say: Live wild and dangerous.

The message seemed to be: Live fully! Do, what are your innermost desires, without fear and false shame. Actualize yourself. All that was to come became a promise of pure delight.

From Arthur Schnitzler to Arthur Rimbaud.

Gorges San Gervasio

This pilgrim route leads us from the pass in the alps which marks the French/Italian border at 1800m heights. We sleep in a alp hut where we enjoy a hefty but nevertheless tasty evening meal. The picturesque Val de Susa will lead us to Torino. First we cross the gorges of San Gervasio and a more gentle forrest path towards Oulx, where we sleep at the albergue of the parish. On our way to Susa we pass Exiles with its uphill fortress. Susa welcomes us to its picturesque old quarter. The next day we walk a more gentle route to St. Antonio. The big ascend and visit Sacra San Michele is the grandiose highlight in many on this tour. The monastery part of the film “The name of the rose” was filmed here. We descend to Avigliana to prepare us for our arrival to Torino the next day. Torino is home of the Shroud of Turin, the most amazing relic of Jesus Christ, witness of his blood and ressurrection. In the evening you are in for your farewell dinner in this beautiful city, where I will treat you with the amazing Italian food and wine. When passing Milano for departure we might visit the amazing cathedral and the exposition of the Last Supper of Leonardo da Vinci – the latter according to availability and your timeframe.
